Community Health Alliance Hosts 13th Annual Wine and Ribs Fundraiser to Support Major Health Center Expansion

Community Health Alliance and its Foundation are excited to announce the 13th annual Wine and Ribs fundraiser, set to take place on Saturday, Aug. 17, from 5 to 9 p.m. at Idlewild Park in Reno.

This year’s event comes as Community Health Alliance celebrates a major milestone: serving over 30,000 patients annually across its six health centers in Reno and Sparks. This achievement highlights the organization’s critical role in providing accessible, high-quality healthcare to underserved and vulnerable populations in Northern Nevada.

Recent expansions at the health centers in Sparks and Sun Valley have significantly impacted the community, and more exciting developments are on the horizon. In partnership with the City of Reno, plans are underway for a substantial expansion of the Nell J. Redfield Health Center on Neil Road. The project will include additional exam rooms, more healthcare providers, enhanced behavioral health services, an on-site pharmacy, and a prescription food pantry. These improvements are essential for increasing capacity, reducing wait times, and offering even more comprehensive care. Proceeds from the Wine and Ribs event will directly support the expansion and remodel of the Neil Road Health Center.

The fundraiser will feature a delicious menu, including St. Louis-style ribs, roasted chicken, salads, macaroni and cheese, ice cream, and more. Guests can enjoy a variety of wines from Southern Glazer’s Wine and Spirits, Tamarack Casino, and Whispering Vine Wine Co., along with a selection of beers provided by Morrey Distributing. The evening will also include an entertaining live auction hosted by local realtor and auctioneer J.P. Menante, with music playing throughout the night.
