Overcoming Challenges as a First-Time Mom with WIC
WIC Is a Part of Our Family
Albertina has been using Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) services since she had her first child. She now has two girls and one baby boy. As a first-time mom, she had many fears and questions. Albertina was able to take advantage of the WIC supplementary food assistance, formula, and the breastfeeding classes. With the help of the WIC program, she was able to overcome many of her fears.
She suffered from post-partum depression and felt supported by the WIC advisor to guide her through it. Albertina said, “The breastfeeding classes were an emotional support in the moment that I became a mom.” She was very happy with the breastfeeding classes as she felt like she was heard without even needing to ask the WIC staff her questions. The WIC staff provided her with advice and the motivation to move forward in her motherhood journey. Albertina said, “WIC is a part of our family.”
We understand that it takes a village to raise a child, and we’d be honored to be a part of yours. Learn more and apply for WIC services and support.
